Parent’s Day Out (PDO) Lead Teacher
Good Shepherd Episcopal School is seeking an individual to join a collaborative team environment as a lead teacher in their Parent’s Day Out Pre-School. The ideal candidate is a strong, dedicated professional with an astute understanding of the developmental needs of young children and how they learn. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the ability to interact with children on an academic, social and emotional level. The candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds, move freely with children and pass basic requirements for Texas DFPS Child Care Licensing. The person in this position will be responsible for helping to open the center by 7:30 every morning (Monday-Friday). This person should be a dependable, responsible, sensitive, and mature individual who relates well to both children and adults. A Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is required. Teaching experience in early childhood, certifications and a familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach is preferred.

Good Shepherd Episcopal School is seeking an individual to join a collaborative team environment as a part time support teacher in their Parent’s Day Out Infant and Toddler program. This person should be a dependable, responsible, sensitive, and mature individual who relates well to both children and adults. The ideal candidate is a dedicated professional with an astute understanding of the developmental needs of young children and how they learn. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to lift 40 pounds, move freely with children and pass basic requirements for Texas DFPS Child Care Licensing. General responsibilities would include: maintaining a positive and adaptable attitude while caring for children’s physical, social, cognitive, and emotional needs through implementing lesson plans that address all areas of development as well as maintaining a clean, safe, and stimulating environment. A High School diploma is required. However, a college degree in Education or related field, teaching experience in early childhood, and a familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach is preferred.

First Grade Teacher
Good Shepherd Episcopal School is seeking an individual to join a collaborative team environment as a 1st grade teacher. The ideal candidate is a strong, dedicated professional with an astute understanding of child development and how young children learn. Essential functions include but not limit to: teach, enrich, and reinforce the grade level/subject curriculum, collaborate with colleagues, assess and monitor student progress, treat each child with dignity and respect, maintain an orderly classroom, provide not only for each child’s academic needs but help develop social and emotional maturity, revise and update the curriculum, prepare report cards, which include written comments, review student assessments and implement individual strategies for learning.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of a bachelors’ degree from a four year college/university
• Teacher certification preferred
• Specific reading instruction or literacy professional development preferred
• Experience as a homeroom teacher in kindergarten, first or second grade preferred
• Competence in technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to differentiate curriculum for students with varying learning styles

Elementary School Music Teacher
Good Shepherd Episcopal School seeks a creative, dynamic, collaborative, experienced music teacher for students in first through fourth grades. Responsibilities to include teaching elementary music and directing the lower school music groups. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in music education, minimum of 3 years elementary music teaching experience, minimum of Level I in Orff Education Teacher Levels and knowledge of technology as it relates to music education. A masters or level III Orff Schulwerk Level Certification and competent piano accompaniment is strongly recommended. Early Childhood Teacher
Good Shepherd Episcopal School is seeking an individual to join a collaborative team environment as a teacher in their Early Childhood division. The ideal candidate is a strong, dedicated professional with an astute understanding of the developmental needs of young children and how they learn. A familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach is preferred. This candidate must possess outstanding written and oral communication skills. It is important that the candidate have a desire and willingness to become an integral part of the GSES learning community. High energy, flexibility, and a positive attitude are attributes for success in this position.

Extended Day Program Teacher
Good Shepherd Episcopal School is searching for a teacher with experience to work in the extended day program. This qualified person would work from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on school days. The job responsibilities are greeting parents, supervising small groups of students in various activities daily including assigned reading, homework, crafts, and outdoor/indoor play.
