Good Shepherd Episcopal School's Summer Program is shattering all expectations! Summer is the perfect time for your children to relax and explore their passions while continuing to learn and grow. We provide students the opportunity to take risks and try unique and fun activities in a safe and nurturing environment! We are excited to bring you half-day and full-day classes designed specifically for prekindergarten (PreK) through eighth grade that offer a unique blend of dynamic and academically-rich sessions.

Our expert summer staff members bring their talents and enthusiasm to connect with each child's personality and diverse interests. At Good Shepherd, our goal is to inspire your children's love of learning, so they can gain the confidence to explore their individual talents with experts in their fields. NEW - GSES Mini Cougar Camps!

We are excited to welcome our pint-sized campers to our Good Shepherd campus this summer! These four camps are tailor-made for our youngest campers. Children must be 2 years old by January 1, 2017 and fully potty-trained to attend any camp. Each camp will be structured around the art of play! Our mornings will be full of fun – from arts and crafts, story time, outdoor and indoor play, water play, music, cooking, games, movement, and so much more! Our experienced early childhood instructors are looking forward to providing a safe place for your child to explore and learn new things!

Cheerleading Camp

Mrs. Blount is excited to offer this fun cheerleading camp for everyone interested in learning basic cheerleading skills, including motions and jumps, new cheers, chants, and a dance. Former GSES girls, who are currently cheering for Jesuit and St. Mark's, will help run this camp, along with other area high school cheerleaders. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt and pom-poms. Please bring a sack lunch if you are staying for an afternoon camp. On Friday, June 2nd, at 12:00 PM, the campers will perform for friends and families, showing off the skills they have learned during the week.

Are your superstars ready for some summer fitness and fun? We will give each camper the opportunity to learn more about sports skills while receiving individualized and team instruction. Athletes are grouped according to age and ability to maximize learning potential. The ultimate goal is to build confidence in each player, and our philosophy is participation, trying your best, and holding your head high. This makes every athlete a winner, no matter the score! Activities will include: soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, baseball and softball, sports strategies, and fun, physical education games. Every afternoon, we will continue to work on skills and techniques of specific sports. In addition, we will go to the YMCA pool each afternoon to cool off during the camp. Wouldn’t it be great if they could use this time to stay active, have fun, learn valuable life skills, and get some quality karate training? Well, with this camp, they can! Since 1981, Chamberlain Studios instruction and karate summer camps have been rooted in the Three Steps to a Great Kid™ Character development program, which centers on training with highly-skilled black belt instructors in fundamental martial arts skills, drills, and activities. Campers will walk away each day tired and happy from the fun martial arts activities, and YOU may find your life a little easier as the students earn stripes on their belts by doing activities and chores at home! Custom uniforms are optional and available from the camp instructor for $35.

Okay, so it is July, and you just celebrated Independence Day and now, you really want to get back to some cool LEGO building. Please join our cool class to learn how many different machines work. Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they are very much alive in Camp Jurassic. Campers learn about a variety of dinosaurs and their habitats. Rocks, minerals, and fossils are studied along with a variety of related projects. Sample projects include a dinosaur model, panning for gems and minerals, building a volcano, casting a sea shell fossil, and excavating a fossilized dinosaur! In addition, special emphasis is placed on observation, inference, data collection, and just plain old fun! The program combines basic golf skills and fundamentals through an innovative curriculum developed by The First Tee. This class is appropriate for students that may want to improve their grasp or fine-motor skills, but it is also for students with poor handwriting. We will focus on proper letter formations and sequencing, spacing, spatial awareness, and neatness. We plan to focus on print for both upper and lower case letters. The classes will begin with gross-motor warm-up activity, fine-motor stations, and about 20-30 minutes of writing time. Writing activities will be performed on slate chalk boards, dry erase boards, tin foil sheets, scratch sheets, magnet boards, wood sticks, clay, sand, and play-doh. Our instruction will be Handwriting Without Tears-based, using HWT language and materials.

Coach Blount and his staff are excited to offer Discovering Dallas Camp again this year! During this camp, we will be involved in many fun off-campus and on-campus activities. As we visit different establishments around Dallas, our campers will bowl, play pool, play laser tag, jump at Jump Street, work batting cages, drive go-carts, play glow-in-the-dark golf, and new this year, go to SIX FLAGS HURRICANE HARBOR! This camp is guaranteed to be tons of fun for everyone! While most of our activities will take place off-campus, we will also play fun games at GSES before and after visits.

  • Day One: Celebration Station
    This is a fun-filled day of laser tag, go-carts, miniature golf, bumper boats, and much more. A pizza buffet will be enjoyed during our visit at Celebration Station.
  • Day Two: Jump Street Dallas and Movie
    Start your day off right, and get your heart pumping, by jumping at Jump Street! Then, it’s time to cool down and relax at the movie theatre for an afternoon show.
  • Day Three: Main Event
    While at Main Event in Frisco, each camper will enjoy unlimited bowling, unlimited laser tag, putt-putt golf, a ropes course and will receive a $10 fun-card for games. We will have a pizza lunch at Main Event before returning to Good Shepherd.
  • Day Four: Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
    While at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, campers will enjoy a full day of fun in the sun enjoying all the water attractions offered by the park. A picnic lunch will be provided for all participants at the park.

This class is appropriate for students that want to improve their grasp or fine-motor skills, but it is also for students with just poor handwriting. We will focus on proper letter formations and sequencing, spacing, spatial awareness, and neatness. We will focus on print for both upper and lower case letters. The classes will begin with a gross-motor warm-up activity, fine-motor stations, and about 20-30 minutes of writing time. Writing activities will be performed on slate chalk boards, dry erase boards, tin foil sheets, scratch sheets, magnet boards, wood sticks, clay, sand, and play-doh. Our instruction will be Handwriting Without Tears-based, using HWT language and materials.

As we visit different establishments around Dallas, our campers will bowl, play pool, play laser tag, jump at Jump Street, enjoy batting cages, drive go-carts, play glow-in-the-dark golf, and new this year, explore SIX FLAGS HURRICANE HARBOR! This camp is guaranteed to be tons of fun for everyone! While most of our activities will take place off-campus, we will also play fun games at GSES before and after visits.

  • Day One: Celebration Station
    This is a fun-filled day of laser tag, go-carts, miniature golf, bumper boats, and much more. A pizza buffet will be enjoyed during our visit at Celebration Station.
  • Day Two: Jump Street Dallas and Movie
    Start your day off right, and get your heart pumping by jumping at Jump Street! Then, it’s time to cool down and relax at the movie theatre for an afternoon show.
  • Day Three: Main Event
    While at Main Event in Frisco, each camper will enjoy unlimited bowling, unlimited laser tag, putt-putt golf, a ropes course and will receive a $10 fun card for games. We will have a pizza lunch at Main Event before returning to Good Shepherd.
  • Day Four: Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

As we visit different establishments around Dallas, our campers will bowl, play pool, play laser tag, jump at Jump Street, enjoy batting cages, drive go-carts, play glow-in-the-dark golf, and new this year, explore SIX FLAGS HURRICANE HARBOR! This camp is guaranteed to be tons of fun for everyone! While most of our activities will take place off-campus, we will also play fun games at GSES before and after visits.

  • Day One: Celebration Station
    This is a fun-filled day of laser tag, go-carts, miniature golf, bumper boats, and much more. A pizza buffet will be enjoyed during our visit at Celebration Station.

  • Day Two: Jump Street Dallas and Movie
    Start your day off right, and get your heart pumping by jumping at Jump Street! Then, it’s time to cool down and relax at the movie theatre for an afternoon show.

  • Day Three: Main Event
    While at Main Event in Frisco, each camper will enjoy unlimited bowling, unlimited laser tag, putt-putt golf, a ropes course and will receive a $10 fun card for games. We will have a pizza lunch at Main Event before returning to Good Shepherd.

  • Day Four: Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
    While at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, campers will enjoy a full day of fun in the sun enjoying all the water attractions offered by the park. A picnic lunch will be provided for all participants at the park.

Your robotics enthusiast will learn about the science of robotics, with information on famous inventors, major innovations, breakthroughs, and advances in robot history. Newton's Laws will be emphasized all week, and each camper will receive and work on three robot kits. This year, we are featuring the 3-in-1 All Terrain Robot and our new 7-in-1 Solar Powered Robot Fleet Kit. Campers will be able to take home their robots at week’s end. This was the first camp ever offered by Club SciKidz! Newly revised and more exciting than ever, campers learn the science behind Hollywood's special effects. Activities will demonstrate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion, and model building. Campers will also learn various special effect make-up techniques, working with the same materials used by professional make-up artists to simulate cuts, bruises, artificial blood, and old age. All campers will create (and take home!) a movie using techniques in Claymation and Stop-Motion Animation. Lessons include plot development, story boarding, set building, filming, and sound effects. Are your superstars ready for some summer fitness and fun? We will give each camper the opportunity to learn more about sports skills while receiving individualized and team instruction. Athletes are grouped according to age and ability to maximize learning potential. The ultimate goal is to build confidence in each player, and our philosophy is participation, trying your best, and holding your head high. This makes every athlete a winner, no matter the score! Activities will include: soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, baseball and softball, sports strategies, and fun physical education games. Every afternoon, we will continue to work on skills and techniques of specific sports. In addition, we will go to the YMCA pool every afternoon to cool off during the camp. *Extended Day Care will begin at 3:00 PM for campers.
